Foundation Projects

The Palos Verdes Estates Foundation is an independent, non-government organization that has been established to make lasting community impact across generations. Through beautification of public property and open space, augmentation of recreational/lifestyle and safety projects, the Foundation seeks to encourage a positive community spirit by engaging residents as volunteers and participants in community projects and events.

One of the key strategies of the Palos Verdes Estates Foundation is to develop partnerships with local organizations thereby creating community synergy to accomplish our goals. Local non-profit organizations, special districts, garden clubs, homeowner associations and merchants will become a part of the extended team to complete the vision. We have already started conversations with a number of organizations to prepare for these partnerships.

We intend to combine financial support and the volunteer hands of the PVE Foundation with the appropriate governmental collaboration to enhance the natural beauty of Palos Verdes Estates envisioned by the founding fathers.

Recent Projects

Neptune Fountain Restoration

The Neptune Fountain, a cherished landmark in Palos Verdes Estates since its installation in 1930, recently underwent a major renovation thanks to a $75,000 fundraising effort led by the Palos Verdes Estates Foundation. The project began when resident Maria Peters approached Foundation President and City Councilmember David McGowan with the idea to restore the aging fountain. Recognizing its cultural and historical significance, the Foundation took on the project, raising the necessary funds through generous community donations.

the crime deterrent initiative aLPR's cameras have been installed

The Palos Verdes Estates Foundation, in collaboration with the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department, has successfully expanded the city’s Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system. A total of 23 new cameras have been installed at strategic locations throughout the city, now fully operational to enhance public safety. This expanded network improves real-time monitoring of vehicle traffic, helping law enforcement quickly identify vehicles tied to crimes, locate stolen property, and respond more effectively to incidents.

The initiative was made possible through the generosity of local donors and reflects the community’s commitment to security and innovation. The expansion builds on earlier efforts, including the donation of body cameras to the department, marking the beginning of a broader public safety initiative. The PVE Foundation, alongside the PVE Police Department, has worked closely with various partners to design and implement this advanced security system, ensuring comprehensive coverage at major entry and exit points throughout the city.
